Raj of Kensington

Just off High Street in the Kensington area of London is a great little Restaurant. This is the place to find the most reasonable priced Indian food and one of the cheapest places to eat in London. It’s Raj of Kensington.

The establishment is well decorated and is great for a night out in London. But the prices are extremely reasonable. My main course was 11.95 Pounds, rice was 3.75, and drink 3.95. For under 20 pounds you can have a meal and not be hungry afterwards.

The story of Raj is interesting as well. ‘The British Raj (Raj meaning “rule” in Hindi) was the rule of Great Britain in the Indian Subcontinent between 1858 and 1947, predominantly under Queen Victoria – Empress of India. The British Raj encompassed almost all present-day India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. The Raj may have ended many years ago, but The British East India Company ensured that the best of India was introduced to the UK and love for Indian cuisine ensued!“

Great Place for a Nice Evening

The meals themselves come with their own story like “served on a train from Bombay to Calcutta. I had that and thoroughly enjoyed it. My companion had the more expensive salmon for 16.95 and said it was delicious. For those who want a full dinner, there is a fixed menu of an appetizer, first course,

1 Ambington Road, just off High Street

The service is very warm and professional which puts it on the top of my list. And if you have a short layover, they deliver too. Either way, Raj of Kensington is a great deal for airline crews.

Cheap Food in Zurich, Rheinfelder Bierhalle

Salutations, my fellow explorers! As a travel expert, I always strive to uncover the hidden gems and local secrets of the destinations I visit. And on my recent trip to Zurich, Switzerland, I struck gold. Nestled on Niederdorfstrasse 76, just a stone’s throw away from the main train station, lies the Rheinfelder Bierhalle: a cozy local eatery serving up delicious, traditional Swiss cuisine at incredibly affordable prices.

Unlike the high-end restaurants that dominate the main streets of Zurich, the Rheinfelder Bierhalle offers a true taste of the city’s local charm. The seating is family-style, and the staff is warm and welcoming. And the menu? It’s a meat-lover’s paradise. From my personal favorite, the boiled pig knuckle with a side of rosti for 17.50 Francs, to traditional Swiss dishes such as rosti, spatzli and schnitzel, there’s something for every taste. And don’t forget to ask for the German mustard – it adds the perfect tangy kick to the meal. If you are looking for meatless options, they have some as well. The menu is huge, satisfying picky eaters and leaving you feeling full and contented. And for those who don’t drink, there are many non-alcoholic options available.

But the Rheinfelder Bierhalle is not just about the food. With a wide selection of beers and wines, as well as a variety of non-alcoholic options, it’s the perfect spot to unwind and soak up the local atmosphere.
